I was born on June 27, 1961 in Rock Falls, Illinois. My
parents are Elwin and Rita Rosengren and I am one of eleven
children. I have four
brothers and six sisters and I fall right in the middle as far as
age. We grew up on the
family farm, attending St. Andrews Grade School in Rock Falls, IL
where I graduated in 1976 and then went on to Rock Falls Township
High School, graduating from there in the spring of 1980.
After high school I worked on the family farm, attending Sauk
Valley Community College in Dixon, IL on and off for several years,
graduating in 1987 with an Associate Degree in Ag Business.
In 1987, I continued working on the farm part-time and went to work
full-time at Northwestern Steel & Wire Company in Sterling, IL for a
few years. After a
lay-off at the steel mill, I went on to Farm & Fleet in Sterling, IL
for a couple of more years.
My next stepping stone was employment at Bennett Welding
Supply in Rock Falls, IL where I drove a semi delivering specialty
gasses for a couple of more years.
In December of 1990, I received my Illinois Insurance Producers
license and went to work for Country Companies Insurance in
Sterling, IL as an Agent.
Country Companies had an excellent training program and on
September 21, 1993 I found a new permanent career with AFLAC and
that crazy duck. It’s
hard to believe I have been representing AFLAC for nearly 18 years.
During that time, I have built many friendships; business
relationships and a huge client base which to work from including
nearly 75 payroll accounts.
My first account was a small company in Rock Falls, IL with nine
employees named Sterling Wire Products which is owned by Wayne Moore
and it is still an account to this day.
Rockford Health System, a large hospital located in Rockford,
IL is my largest account which took years to become a client and has
nearly 4,000 employees which I feel has been one of my biggest
accomplishments since representing AFLAC.
I have some other accomplishments as well during my time with AFLAC.
In 1994, I accomplished my first AFLAC award which was a trip
to the Home Office in Columbus, GA.
This is AFLAC’s Triple Crown Award.
I was also awarded the Convention Club Award for five
different years and the prestigious Presidents Club award for three
different years which is one of the most elite accomplishments with
AFLAC. This award
recognizes the top 75 Agents in the Company and in 1995 I was ranked
#10 out of over 30,000 producers across the U.S., Puerto Rico and
Guam.
I have a few hobbies I would like to share as well.
Back in 2003 A purchased my first motorcycle which is a 100th
Anniversary Harley Davidson Wide Glide.
I really enjoy riding in my free time and like riding on
poker runs. I also enjoy
playing racquetball and really need to get out on the court more
often. I also enjoy
watching the Chicago Cubs in the summer and I am a diehard Dallas
Cowboy fan during football season.
And of course, I am a big fan of NASCAR and the #99 car of
the AFLAC Duck and Carl Edwards.
I also enjoy getting out on the farm and work with some local
famer’s who are very good friends of mine.
I enjoy the fresh air and I am just amazed at the advancement
of farming technology.
Who would have thought 25 years ago a tractor equipped with GPS
would basically operate itself through a farm field, driving as
straight as an arrow from one end of the field to the other while
reading a newspaper or magazine in the cab.
Some of my policyholders ask me what my plans are for retirement…I
really don’t ever see myself retiring.
I always say God willing, as long as I have my health, my
voice and I can get around I will never retire.
This is not work to me because I enjoy what I do.
I will continue going back year after year to my accounts
servicing them and delivering claim checks and open up new accounts
as well. I really love
what I do and I think there is a great demand for the products and
services that AFLAC has to offer especially now with all of the talk
of Health Care Reform.
In fact Japan has National Health Care. AFLAC is very successful in
Japan.
We believe our success in Japan is confirmation that Americans will
continue to want and need our products in the wake of healthcare
reform. AFLAC Japan
insures approximately 1 out of every 4 Japanese households which is
a very promising fact.
So enough said…thanks for finding out a little about me and I am looking forward to seeing you in the future!!!
